Rooms & monthly costs
What accommodation can I choose?
Rent a bedspace in a four-person shared room, or an entire room for 1–4 people. All rooms are air-conditioned. Some have their own bathroom (CR), while others use shared bathrooms. Bedspace rates start at ₱3,000 per person per month; other rates depend on your selected accommodation. Contact management using the numbers below to confirm availability and pricing.
Who can stay, and how are roommates assigned?
Male and female tenants are welcome. Female tenants share with female roommates, and male tenants share with male roommates. Mixed-gender arrangements are considered only for close relatives, such as siblings or cousins, and parents must make the reservation for that arrangement.
Most residents are students, but working tenants are also welcome. The same student house rules apply to every tenant.
What is included in the monthly rate?
Your monthly rate includes rent, water, and shared Wi-Fi access at our dedicated rooftop hotspot. A bed frame and a basic clothing cabinet are provided.
Electricity is billed separately per room based on actual submetered usage. Roommates agree among themselves on how to divide the bill, taking into account the appliances each person brings.
Reservations & moving in
Can I visit before deciding?
Yes. We strongly recommend a site visit before accepting a reservation request so you can see the space first. Exceptions may be considered for people referred by existing tenants. No appointment or set visiting hours are required. Please log in at the entrance and speak with the on-site Dormitory Manager.
How do I reserve, and what is due when I move in?
First, contact management to confirm room or bed availability. To reserve, pay a security deposit equivalent to one month’s rent. The reservation payment is non-refundable if you cancel.
Upon moving in, pay one month’s rent in advance and sign a lease contract for a fixed one-year term.
Is the security deposit refundable?
Yes. After completing the one-year lease, your security deposit is refundable, less any deductions for unpaid bills or damages.
If there are no pending bills, the deposit may instead be applied toward your final month’s rent.
If you cancel your reservation before moving in, the reservation payment is non-refundable.
Which payment methods are accepted?
We accept bank deposit, GCash, and GoTyme. Online payments are preferred, and cash payments on site are also accepted. The payment cutoff time is 6 PM. Contact management for payment instructions.
What should I prepare for moving in?
Reserve your room or bed in advance. A bed frame and a basic clothing cabinet are provided, so bring your own 36 × 75-inch mattress and bed linens. Personal furniture and household appliances are welcome.
Use electrical appliances inside your room. Open-flame cooking, including gas and butane, is allowed only in the rooftop area. Cooking equipment is not provided.
House rules & shared facilities
Can I buy school supplies or have documents printed in the building?
Yes. A dedicated school supplies and printing shop is located in the dormitory building. Pick up essentials for class or take care of last-minute printing without making a separate trip.
Is there a food court in the building?
Yes. Kayong’s food court is on the ground floor of the dormitory building, right along the road. It offers a variety of food at student-friendly prices and welcomes tenants, Silliman students, and the general public. It’s a convenient option when you’re busy studying or don’t feel like cooking.
Is there a curfew?
There is no curfew. Please observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM, especially in the rooftop study area, and respect other tenants’ rest and study time.
Where can I receive visitors?
There are no set visiting hours or appointment requirements. All visitors must log in at the entrance and may be received only in the rooftop lounge. Visitors are strictly prohibited in shared bedrooms rented as bedspaces. Quiet hours still apply.
Can we hold group study sessions or cook on the rooftop?
Yes. Group study sessions do not need advance approval; simply give the on-site Dormitory Manager a heads-up. The rooftop has a shared Wi-Fi hotspot and can also be used for BBQs, cooking, and eating.
Bring your own cooking equipment. Gas, butane, and other open-flame cooking are permitted only on the rooftop for safety. Electrical appliances must be used inside tenant rooms. Observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM.
Are drugs or liquor allowed?
Drugs and liquor are strictly prohibited. Violations are subject to eviction on the first offense.
What laundry facilities are available?
On-site handwashing is not allowed, except for undergarments. A cost-effective laundry pickup and delivery service is available to all tenants.
Is parking provided?
No parking is provided at the dormitory.
What security and fire-safety features are in place?
The front entrance locks automatically upon exit and is accessed using a key provided to tenants. The dormitory has 24/7 CCTV recording, maintained fire extinguishers, and a fire alarm system.

Where is the dormitory located?
Kayong’s Dormitory is located at Hibbard Avenue, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, along the road right beside Silliman Elementary School and directly across from the Silliman Information Booth. Dumaguete Sea Port is within walking distance.
